5 Ways to Celebrate Valentine’s Day in 2021

Ah, the season of love! Whether you’re celebrating this Valentine’s Day with your girl gang, that special someone or your cuddly furry friends, we’re here to help make sure that this year is just as special as your last— the COVID-friendly way of course.

We know that the restrictions on indoor dining and other forms of entertainment can make things a little tricky. While staying at home may sound somewhat dull, there are still plenty of ways to make this day as heartwarming and romantic as ever. And hey, if you’re trying to get away from the kiddos for a quick romantic getaway, book a hotel room for the night— some even offer special holiday programming such as champagne and complimentary roses.

So, here are some Purlisse perfect ways to make your at-home Valentine’s Day the best one yet:

1. Decorate your space!

As with any holiday, there’s no better way to raise your spirits than decorating for the special occasion. It’s time to douse your space with all things pink, red and heart shaped. If you want to kick things up a notch, grab your scissors, some colored paper and your very special someone and spend some quality time bonding over what we like to call “hearts and crafts!”

2. Dress to impress.

You know what they say, look good feel good! And we all know that Valentine’s Day is all about the warmest fuzziest good feelings that there are. Before you begin your full night of romance, throw on your favorite outfit for the occasion that is sure catch the eyes of your special someone.

And hey, wearing festive matching outfits is always encouraged for the holidays!

3. Cook a romantic dinner together.

COVID keeping you from wining and dining at your favorite restaurant? You might not be able to go out to the hottest spot in town but that doesn’t mean that you can’t treat yourselves to a night of decadent meals. I mean, let’s be honest, who doesn’t love being in the comfort of their own kitchen surrounded by the delicious aroma of home-cooked meals?

Even if your skills don’t shine in the kitchen, there’s no shame in ordering your favorite takeout— at least you don’t have to worry about the aftermath of dirty dishes piling up in the sink.

Tip: If you and your Valentine are keeping things virtual this year, prepare the same meal and enjoy it together over a zoom date!

4. Go on a hike.

Planning a romantic hike is a great way to say, "I love you." We know that it may be a little chilly where you live at the moment, but that shouldn’t stop you and your twin flame from enjoying the outdoors this Valentine’s Day. If you really want to spice things up, surprise your partner with a picnic filled with their favorite foods. You can thank us later!

5. Play a romantic card game.

Grab the popcorn and settle on the couch for an evening filled with card games and great company! A romantic card game is the perfect way to introduce new passion and connections into your relationship. And hey, you may learn something new about your partner that you didn’t know before.

Tip: We’re Not Really Strangers is the perfect purpose-driven card game with the intention of empowering meaningful connections with others. Certainly a must-have for this Valentine’s Day!
